Web Marketing Assistant

Full-time 6-month initial contract, looking to become permanent
£15,000 to £17,000 per annum (pro-rata)

Marketing-minded? Online savvy? One of the UK's leading online retailers of indoor and outdoor living is seeking a graduate or similar with a passion for multi-channel commerce.

This is a fantastic time to join our growing team and make a difference. Actively contribute to marketing, selling, SEO and building our brand in a rapidly developing online environment. Reporting to the Web Team management, your specific areas of responsibility will include, social networking, blogging/copywriting, website merchandising, and supporting other online tasks as requested. You will also take part in assisting with search engine optimisation.

We're a young, energetic and enthusiastic Web Team, which currently consists of an Web Marketing Manager, a Web Development Manager and a Web Merchandising Manager.

Candidates should be energetic, proactive, and critical thinkers with sound communication ability, and attention to detail which are all critical to our success. Familiarity with web technologies is essential along with the knack for learning new systems quickly. This experience does not need to be from a commercial environment, as the most important thing is that you're web-savvy, bright and willing to learn.

Garden XL was formed in 2006 by an experienced garden centre retail team and has grown year-on-year, with an ever expanding team. We?re now a popular online destination for Wellington Boots, barbecues, garden and indoor furniture, and our horizons are expanding to shortly include a wider range of gardening and home products.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Typical Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, etc) are required
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills are crucial
  • Basic HTML knowledge required
  • Basic image editing skills required
  • Qualification(s) in a related subject to ecommerce/marketing preferred
  • Previous experience in an online environment desirable
  • Previous use of a web Content Management System preferred
