Wellies and wedding dress help make student a success

Wellington boots have helped turn a student's work into an advertising campaign.

Karen Catto, a student on a photography course in Aberdeen, has had one of her pictures featured in a Danish advertising campaign, the Press and Journal reported.

The creative 34-year-old combined a pair of funky wellies, which she brought on a trip to an Ilse Jacobsen in Stavanger, Norway, with a wedding dress to create a memorable image.

Ms Catto sent the images to the shop's headquarters in Denmark and the company asked if it could buy the copyright for use in advertising.
She had been studying on a commercial photography course at Robert Gordon University when she took the photos.

Speaking to the newspaper, she said: "The theme of the original photo was Trash the Dress, and it was part of my practical project for the course. It was really good fun and I am pleased with the results."

Last year, the Hunter Wellingtons blog noted that Hunter wellies had launched a plain white pair of boots for brides to wear on their special day.
