Fundraisers don Wellington boots for charity walk

Locals in Bullbrook in Bracknell, Berkshire, donned their funky wellies last weekend as they marched around a park for charity.

Around 30 people turned up for the charity walk which aimed to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), getbracknell.co.uk reported.

Wearing their funky wellies, the group raised around £300 for the charity.

Speaking to the newspaper, Michelle Law, RNLI area fundraising manager, said the walk had gone very well.

"This is the first time we have held a welly walk here and it was lovely to meet and talk to all those who turned up in their wellies ready to raise money for our brave volunteer lifeboat crews," she noted.

"We are very grateful to all those who came out and showed their support on what was a very cold Sunday morning," she said.

Earlier this week, the Hartlepool Mail reported that children at Jesmond Road Primary School filled a pair of Wellington boots with change for the RNLI.
